Chapter 128: A Race Against Time.
Ella tried her best to compose her thoughts, but she couldn\'t even stand straight. The police were on their way, but what was done was done.
Mike had Jane and there was nothing that she could do about it, Jane had protected her once again.
Ella couldn\'t do anything but there was one more person that might be able to do something with his influence and that was Kyle.
She wondered why Kyle didn\'t tell them and one could blame him for the current occurrence as this caught them off guard.
If they did know information about the danger that Mike possessed then it would have been easier to handle the situation.
There was no way in hell they would have spent the night at their place nor would Mike have that freedom to move freely.
Ella found a target for her rage and that was Kyle, she was justified even though she understood that Kyle was trying to protect Jane.
If that was the case, what happened to her? He could have told her just like she told him about the kind of man that Mike was.

There was something wrong with all of this but Ella remembered that Jane had kept her old phone.
She rushed to the room and found the phone, quickly searching for the contact and just as she thought, Kyle\'s number was still in the call history.
She inserted her sim and dialed him up immediately, it didn\'t even ring once for Kyle to pick up.
"H-He got Jane… Mike has Jane!" Ella began to sob, she couldn\'t hold in her tears.
Kyle didn\'t say a word, prompting Ella to wonder if he heard.
"It is all your fault! You should have told us or the police! It is because of you that psycho has Jane!" Ella barked but once again, she was met with silence.
Kyle knew she needed to get this off her chest more than anything but never predicted that Mike would go to such lengths.
Kyle sighed at the other end of the phone, this only angered Ella all the more.
[[I will take care of it but no matter what you do, don\'t get the police involved.]] Kyle warned but Ella didn\'t have that faith like Jane did in him.
There was no way she was about to gamble her friend\'s life away.
"AND WHAT DO YOU PLAN TO DO!?" Ella barked.
[[I plan to take her place, it is me he wants…]] Kyle responded, there was no hint of fear in his voice.
"What do you mean you will take her place!? I\'m involving the police, I cannot risk my friend\'s life on your word!" Ella was losing her mind.
[[Ella, what do you think will happen if you corner Mike? Do you think he will just let Jane go or take her out with him?]] Kyle questioned.
Mike had the if I can\'t have her, no one else can mindset or at least that was what the situation had evolved into.
Ella thought about this for a moment, she realised that Kyle might be right as murder-suicide was a common theme in such cases.
"What can you do then?" Ella questioned.
[[I cannot tell you that but I need you to trust me.]] Kyle requested. Ella bit her lips, she was angry but Kyle was being logical.
The way he spoke told her he might have it under control and she kissed her teeth in irritation before hanging up the phone.
-
Kyle hung up the phone and the look in his eyes was one of pure rage, he thought Mike would be smart enough to leave the woman out of it but it looked like he had no code.
"Mike, you fucking piece of shit!" Kyle cussed under his voice, and all the emotions he felt came rushing through him.
He was certain that Mike would try to reach out to him, that would be the only reason to get Jane but he also regretted not being more intimate with Jane or he would have been able to get her location. Wait a minute, the only reason that Cassandra\'s information was limited was due to the fact she wasn\'t in his harem so he had to make up for the lack of affection with intimacy?
But Jane shouldn\'t follow that same rule, she was in his harem with maxed-out affection.
Kyle knew he had nothing to lose and made sure that he would give it a try.
"Where is Jane\'s location!?" Kyle asked but his system didn\'t give him an immediate response.
But then the familiar cyan screen appeared.
[Ding!]
[Calculating Geolocation….!]
Kyle\'s heart began to thump, he didn\'t know this would work but the response was positive.
He found a way to keep the police out of it because he finally made up his mind the moment that call came through.
Kyle was going to make sure that Mike wouldn\'t see another night and the element of surprise was something that he had because there was no way that Mike would anticipate this.
[Location found!]
[Current location: XXX-XXX-XXX!]
"Keep it on! Keep tracking!" Kyle commanded/
The relief that overcame Kyle couldn\'t be explained but he saw a mini map dangling in front of him showing where Jane was headed.
Kyle didn\'t hesitate, he picked up his car so he could track them but they did so quietly, no one knew he had returned to the apartment.
This took a little over fifteen minutes, if Mike was going to make any move, it would be in the morning.
Tonight was for securing Jane and he had time on his hands as well but why was he still on the road? That didn\'t matter because Kyle got into his car and drove off.
He drove like a maniac but thanks to his skills, he didn\'t need to worry about crashing.
It was like a cheat code in a video game that allowed the user to auto-dodge obstacles, except the automated feature was his reflexes.
Kyle hit the pedal, tearing through the street like he was in a race, he didn\'t care about the speed limit.
"Hang in there Jane!"
