Chapter 36: Chapter 38 Job Application
"Thirteen dollars, including the slaughtering fee."
Tan He\'an, as if knowing the surprise in his heart, said with a smile, "Generally, people buy ducks and have them slaughtered at my place. The slaughtering fee for each duck is about seventy to eighty cents. Du Xing has had his ducks slaughtered at my place twice already, in large numbers each time."
This Du Xing is really ruthless, charging me three dollars per duck for the slaughtering fee.
And the price of the ducks, only thirteen dollars here with Tan He\'an, and he was charging me fifteen.
Qin Hao wasn\'t angry because that\'s how business is. Since he had accepted the terms, it only meant his own judgement hadn\'t been sharp enough.
"There\'s no problem with the ducks here, right, Boss Tan?"
Tan He\'an: "Mr. Qin, rest assured, my wife runs a breeding farm just outside the suburbs of Jiangshan City. You can check it out anytime. If Mr. Qin wants to buy in large quantities in the future, we can negotiate the price."
Qin Hao felt relieved. No wonder Tan He\'an could offer such a low price; it turns out the breeding farm is his family\'s business.
Smiling even more upon hearing this, Qin Hao said, "Boss Tan is an honest man. I believe we will have even more opportunities for cooperation in the future."
Tan He\'an also smiled, "Mr. Qin may have some concerns now, but over time you\'ll come to know what kind of person I, Tan, am. I will take my leave now, Mr. Qin."
After Tan He\'an left, Qin Hao asked Kang Youyi, "How did you find this man?"
Kang Youyi chuckled, "Heard about him from asking around. He\'s been doing business in the live poultry and aquatic products market for decades, with a very good reputation."
Qin Hao nodded slightly, "He made a good impression on me. Starting from tomorrow, we\'ll temporarily get our supplies from Tan He\'an."
"Alright."
Walking into the shop, Kang Youyi had already arranged for people to clean the ducks.
Li Bao had someone take a document out of the car, "Hao, here\'s the driving license you wanted. It\'s been taken care of."
Qin Hao was surprised, "So soon?"
Kang Youyi said from the side, "Hao, Bao\'s capabilities are high now. He knows many people in the business sector and in the government. Just a license, hand over some money and it\'s done."
"Don\'t talk nonsense," Li Bao glared at the chubby man irritably.
While they were talking, a young girl walked in.
Seeing so many men in black inside, she timidly asked, "Excuse me, is this where you\'re hiring an accountant and cashier?"
Everyone in the room turned their heads to look, and the girl\'s face changed color, looking as if she was ready to turn and flee at any moment.
Qin Hao quickly asked with a smile, "Are you here to apply for the job?"
The girl nodded slightly but still didn\'t dare to enter, as Li Bao\'s group seemed a bit intimidating.
Annoyed, Qin Hao said to Li Bao, "If you\'ve got nothing else to do, go back to whatever you were doing."
"Yes, Hao. Call me if you need anything, I\'ll be going now," Li Bao nodded quickly, leading his men out of the place.
Qin Hao looked at the girl and said with a smile, "Can you come in now?"
The girl, a bit embarrassed with a slightly red face, then walked in, her eyes surveying the decorations around the roast duck shop.
It must be a new roast duck shop. Opening a roast duck shop in this location, would anyone come to buy? She had trouble finding the place; it was a bit remote.
"Please, take a seat," Qin Hao said to the girl.
The girl sized up Qin Hao, "Are you the owner of this store?"
Qin Hao smiled and nodded, and Yu Jie felt an urge to turn around and leave.
No wonder the Peking duck restaurant was in such an out-of-the-way place, the owner looked to be just eighteen or nineteen, even younger than me, what kind of business acumen could he have?
Could this Peking duck restaurant stay open for a month? If it closed down halfway, would I still get my salary?
If Qin Hao knew what she was thinking, he probably would\'ve been so upset he\'d spit blood.
"Let\'s introduce ourselves, my name is Qin Hao, and I am the owner of this store."
Yu Jie had been planning to leave, but remembering her family\'s situation and her interview experiences from the previous days, she decided to give it another try.
"Hello, my name is Yu Jie, I\'m twenty-five years old, a graduate from Kun Economic University with a major in accounting. I have worked in Haizhou City and Haizhen City in Haiyue Province, and here is my resume." Yu Jie spoke at an even pace, her tone indifferent.
Qin Hao took her resume and looked it over, Kun City is the provincial capital of Shuinan Province, and Kun Economic University is a first-tier local institution in Shuinan Province, quite a good school indeed.
After reading her resume, Qin Hao asked curiously, "With your qualifications, you should be able to find a better job, why did you come back here?"
Yu Jie: "My hometown is in Yong\'an County, Jiangshan City, and I planned to find a job in Jiangshan City because of my family\'s situation.
A few days ago, I interviewed at several other places in Jiangshan City, but I wasn\'t very satisfied."
Qin Hao nodded slightly, "What are your requirements for a job?"
Yu Jie: "I would like to ask about our work hours, salary, and so on."
Qin Hao thought for a moment and said, "Your work hours will generally be from nine in the morning to seven or eight in the evening, depending on the workload, with no breaks on weekends for now, and the hours might be longer but they include meals.
Your salary during the probation period is four thousand per month, after becoming regular it\'s five thousand, and there are bonuses every month, depending on work performance."
This salary, Qin Hao didn\'t dare to say it was very high in Jiangshan City, but it definitely wasn\'t bad either.
Hearing the salary Qin Hao mentioned, Yu Jie\'s eyes clearly lit up; four thousand during probation, five thousand after being regularized, plus bonuses, this was the best offer she\'d received after several days of interviews.
But she worried about whether Qin Hao\'s Peking duck restaurant would fold in less than a month.
If it did, would she still receive her salary?
Seeing she wasn\'t speaking, Qin Hao asked curiously, "Miss Yu, do you have any other concerns?"
"No... no others." Yu Jie didn\'t dare to speak her mind.
Qin Hao noticed her reluctance to speak and said with a smile, "Perhaps Miss Yu lacks confidence in my Peking duck restaurant.
If you\'re free this afternoon, you can try working here, and if you feel it\'s not right, I\'ll give you a hundred yuan as payment for today, and you can continue your search tomorrow. If it feels okay, then stay on,"
Yu Jie, feeling embarrassed, nodded, "Mhm, okay."
Qin Hao introduced her to someone, "This chubby guy is Kang Youyi; when I\'m not here, he\'s in charge of the matters in the store."
"Hello, Mr. Kang," Yu Jie said to Kang Youyi with a smile.
Kang Youyi quickly returned the smile, "Miss Yu, hello."
"Fatty, show Miss Yu around and familiarize her with the work environment in the store," said Qin Hao to Kang Youyi.
In the afternoon, two more people came for interviews; he was interviewing them for selling Peking ducks, which required no special skills, just the ability to handle money and cut ducks. When not selling, they would help out in the store, and it wasn\'t tiring. Qin Hao had set their salary at three thousand for the moment.
Qin Hao thought these two were quite okay, so he decided to keep them on.
