Chapter 105

He wanted to say more but the feeling of death looming over everything is a feeling he couldn’t shake off. If he wasted any more time, the allied forces would likely suffer a major catastrophe that night.

“Come” Damon said plainly as he left the tent with his greatsword in his hands.

His eyes narrowed as a bright purple light erupted from Damon’s body, surging fiercely stunning even Elsa.

Boom!

Following a loud explosion, Damon’s tent was reduced to nothing as flame and wind surged dangerously as a figure shot into the air above with fierce power surging from his body.

His cold gaze flashed around as he began looking through the massive camp. With his strength alone there is a limit to what Damon can do but the flashy entrance was meant to attract attention.

Bang!

Bang!

.....

Bang!

Suddenly countless explosions resonated across the entire allied camp, sending people into a frenzy! While everyone was confused and wondering what was happening, Damon wasn’t moved. While the allied force is practically unstable on the battlefield, the vampires were more formidable at night.

These vampires consisted of humans, elves, and all beings of all races! Just earlier today they just shared a battlefield with the enemy and lost over five thousand soldiers atop that mountain!

What stops them from picking up the equipment of the dead, putting it on, and sneaking into the alliance camp?

Unless a werewolf is present how can their forces tell the difference between normal humans and vampire humans?

“I need you to stop the fire and inform Great general Hail that the enemy has infiltrated disguised as our soldiers. Like a plague, with each death we sustain, the number of invaders would increase. He should dispatch the Hail family to all camps immediately and help identify the enemies, I will deal with issues in this camp!” Damon said as his body descended to the ground while he spoke to Elsa.

Pa!

Damon wanted to move but his wrist was caught by Elsa. Her huge, beautiful emerald eyes remained pinned on Damon for a short while before she spoke.

“I am not leaving your side. I came here to prevent your death and not this.... The hosts are at their last leg! We can’t afford to be reckless with our lives!” Elsa said with a stern look on her face, making Damon blush.

Even when serious, the elf lady still looked really beautiful. In fact, her soft hands holding on to Damon made him uncomfortable, making him wonder how he ended up falling in love with this elf.

“Hahaha! Don’t be stupid if we lose here do you think we still have a chance of survival? The enemy already had a million strong forces. With each member of our forces who falls victim joining their forces. Each great kingdom gathered about two hundred thousand soldiers each. If something were to happen and we lose this war. Adding our eight hundred thousand soldiers to their one million capable soldiers, do you think we have a chance of survival?” Damon scoffed.

“An army that is powerful will topple everything in their way. By that time, you will regret stopping me here so I ask, do you think the most important thing now is to keep me here with you?” Damon asked in a gentle tone which made her frown.

Elsa’s grip on his wrist slowly loosened and she eventually let go. She seemed to be pondering on his words, failing to notice when he left.

“I have died once, dying again won’t change a thing. I did rather die knowing I tried my best to prevent this disaster than die late on in the future, knowing I could have avoided it, if only I tried.” Damon’s voice echoed as his figure vanished in the distance, leaving Elsa alone with her thoughts.

“This human...” Elsa muttered as she gripped her chest with a frown. For some reason whenever Damon spoke about him dying she felt Incredibly sad. Why would she feel this way for a human she only met a day ago?

At first, she was interested in him because she knew he was the death guardian spirit host from the beginning but now it seemed to develop into something more.

“It was that charge! His eyes were that of a man not afraid to die...” Elsa muttered as she tightened her grip while remembering when the horde of enemies was revealed and they charged forward.

The momentum those vampires carried was terrifying and any normal person would be terrified, yet this young child who is barely up to fifteen led a charge against more than a hundred thousand foes with just twenty thousand. Any girl would find it hard to catch her breath after seeing such a heroic sight!

[This shouldn’t be happening! You all may be hosts but the power of death can affect nature negatively... you are to work with him and not fall for him!] A stern feminine voice boomed in Elsa’s mind, rebuking her.

As the guardian spirit of nature, she wouldn’t let her host go astray and get involved in a relationship which is bound to end badly.

[If not for your sake but for the sake of your people, do not act on your emotions... just work with him and secure a future for the hosts! Please!] The voice pleaded but Elsa seemed to ignore all of it.

She simply sighed bitterly before leaving without any more hesitation! The allied forces were in trouble and every second mattered! Right now is not the time to dwell on such personal thoughts.

.......

Bang!

Damon landed with a loud bang, as the ground beneath his feet cracked. Where he stood was at the center of countless burning tents and more. A good number of their horses were already butchered and everyone was running around in confusion!

“THIS!” Damon frowned as he could perceive the scent of these vampires but with everyone running and moving disorderly, the scent was too scattered, making it hard to pinpoint anyone in particular.

[This war is a losing one.... Just like the girl said, you might just die tonight,] Death said with a calm voice which made Damon chuckle in response.

“Hmph! Killing me is far more difficult than you think!” Damon said coldly as his eyes peered into the distance and locked on to the crowd of soldiers bringing with their buckets of water!

Bang!

Damon shot forward with his great sword brimming with power!

“NO ONE MOVES!” Damon growled as he leaped into the air and began descending like a cannon with his blade shrouded in a darkish purple aura.

General?

The soldiers were stunned by this order but as trained, instinctively everyone stopped moving and gazed at Damon’s fierce figure about to descend on them.

Xiu!

A figure suddenly broke out from the group, dropping to the bucket of water and running leaving behind a blood trail!

“THINK YOU CAN LEAVE? DON’T EVEN DREAM ABOUT IT!” Damon’s voice boomed like lightning as threw his sword at the fleeing enemy!

Bam!

Even though the vampire was fast, it was only a human realm one! The sword stabbed into its chest and it collapsed instantly!

Bang!

Damon landed beside the other soldiers, with his cold gaze pinned on the unmoving body of the enemy. The vampire wasn’t dead but it wasn’t far from it either but it wasn’t too far from death either.

“Abandon the burning tents! Gather everyone you can on the way and quickly head towards our supplies! Make sure our food and water are not contaminated by these animals! If we lose that, we lose this war!” Damon ordered them while walking towards the fallen vampire.

Upon reaching, he slowly pulled out his sword and stabbed forward again but this time his attack was aimed at her skull!

Boom!

The attack created a small crater around the head. Damon turned and watched those soldiers run off towards the storage. His eyes looked in the opposite direction, revealing a man in white walking toward him. This youth with bright red eyes, and extremely pale skin. In his hand was a sword made of bone with countless runes engraved on them.

Seeing this youth, Damon couldn’t help but remember the youth they fought back in Gyro! Kyle too possessed Incredibly pale skin and red eyes. He too had white hair and was dressed in complete white.

Just like Kyle, this youth was probably one of the hundred thousand elites serving the first bloods of the blood clan directly.

“All we wish to do is live yet you people won’t leave us alone... my master sent me here tonight to make sure, none of you survives.... This pitiful war is going to end tonight!” The youth declared coldly!
